Windows 7 Family Pack for Australia is a “possibility”, concedes Microsoft

“There is still the possibility of Australia getting the Family Pack at some point in the future” Jeff Putt, Windows Consumer Lead for Microsoft Australia, told APC.

Microsoft’s official line is that the Family Pack is one of many special retail offers which the company is ‘test marketing’ in different countries around the world.

Putt also told APC that “there will be a special offer on Windows 7” in November, although he would not reveal what this would be.

Putt also pointed out that Australia “has the special student pricing on Windows 7 that not all other countries are getting”.

That discount is available under Microsoft Australia’s It’s Not Cheating program, under which students enrolled in approved universities and TAFE colleges can buy the Windows 7 Professional upgrade package for $50.

Telstra to cut broadband price as customers drop off

Telstra boss David Thodey admitted that the drop in new customers coming on to its fixed broadband products was “not good”.

Fixed-line internet sales growth dropped from 20.5 per cent last year to 13.3 per cent this year.

A broadband customer after a fast ADSL2+ link with a data allowance geared to heavy use would pay $99.95 a month under current Telstra pricing for a 25GB per month data allowance.

For me on the net gives me an ADSL2+ link with a 30GB allowance for $49.99 a month.

ABC television’s Hungry Beast program thought they’d take Rudd up on his challenge.

The pigeon arrived first clocking in at one hour and five minutes

the internet dropped out twice and didn’t even make it at all. When the upload began on the internet connection the estimated time of upload was between four and nine hours.
