I found this great multi track audio recorder for my iPhone. It’s called Hokusai Audio Editorand it’s free. It let’s you do multi track recordings right on the phone or pad.
There are a number of effects that come free wit the app but a few cheap in app purchases gets you a surprising number of filters and effects.
a few of the free effects are fade in and fade out, normalise and reverse time. With the in app purchases you can get a number of different distortions and reverbs plus audio cut and copy. The audio cut and copy works really naturally and intuitively on the touch screen.
If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you’ve probably come across my love for DropBox. This is another app that supports DropBox. You can import tracks from it to add to your project. Or when you’re finished mixing down your tracks to a .wav file, export your tracks to DropBox.
This is certainly not an app for everyone but if you have any interest in audio editing at all, you have to give this one a try. Hey, it’s free.
