The 10 biggest features of the iPhone 11

The new Apple iPhone release for 2019 will include one model with an LCD display—simply named the iPhone 11

 

Display

Identical to the iPhone XR The iPhone 11 will also offer the same resolution of 326 pixels per inch (1792 x 828), and will stick with the camera cutout notch at the top for the front-facing camera and other sensors.

 

Authentication

improved unlocking of the device using Face ID. Facial authentication will now be 30 percent faster on the iPhone 11,

 

Processor

 the A13 Bionic, which is the same chip powering the new iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max. The six-core CPU in the A13 Bionic includes two high-performance cores (running at up to 20 percent faster speeds than the A12 Bionic), along with four low-power cores (featuring up to 40 percent improved energy efficiency over the A12). Apple is calling the A13 Bionic both the “fastest CPU ever in a smartphone” as well as the “fastest GPU ever in a smartphone.”

 

 

Battery

iPhone 11, saying it will last “up to one hour longer than iPhone XR.” However, Apple did not release specifics on how much internet use or talk time users can expect to get with the iPhone 11. The iPhone XR had promised up to 15 hours of internet use or 25 hours of talk time. The iPhone 11 will also be able to charge wirelessly with a Qi charging pad.

 

Price and availability

In one of the most significant changes with the iPhone 11, Apple is actually offering the smartphone at a lower starting price than its predecessor, the iPhone XR. The starting price for the iPhone 11 will be $1199, compared to the original starting price of $1229 for the XR. Pre-orders for the iPhone 11 will begin Friday (13 September), and the release date for the iPhone 11 is 20 September.

 

Apple kills off iPhone XS and XS Max after one year

Mirroring the one-year tenure of the iPhone X, Apple on Tuesday revealed that it will no longer offer the year-old iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, with the arrival of iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max

 

Apple tops NSW consumer complaints register

Apple received the most consumer complaints in New South Wales for the month of July, NSW Fair Trading has revealed.

 

received 36 complaints for the entire month, up from 26 complaints registered in June.

 

23 complaints were related to quality of goods, while five were about quality of service. For products, 12 complaints were related to iPhones and accessories, seven were for MacBooks, while Apple Watches and “ebooks/online subscription/apps” had 6 complaints each.

 

Fair Trading’s announcement of the month’s miscreants took aim at online businesses, with Revolv Athletic, Grays Online and eBay also making the list.

 

NSW Fair Trading Commissioner Rose Webb said, “In a recently commissioned market research survey, one in five people did not know they have the same rights when buying online as they do when shopping in store.”

 

Yahoo email goes down for six hours, someone still cares enough to complain

Thousands of Yahoo email users took to Twitter on Thursday to complain that the internet company’s services have been unavailable for more than six hours.

Users in Spain, France and Germany were the worst hit, according to outage tracker website Downdetector.

Samsung’s Galaxy Fold debuts – at $2,900!

The remodeled version of the Galaxy Fold, which opens like a book to reveal a 7.3-inch infinity display, now has the screen’s protective layer tucked under the bezel at its edge.

The device’s main screen can show up to three apps simultaneously, allowing a user to multitask. When it is closed the display is replicated on an external screen – a feature known as app continuity.
